Welcome to my software consulting page.

I work in Java, C#, C++ on Windows, Unix and generic Internet platforms. Newer languages and platforms are always welcome! I like to work on difficult problems. I also like to get involved with new languages and tools.

If the problem is at least somewhat well-defined, I can (and prefer to) work on a fixed price quote basis.

I am located in Highlands Ranch near Denver, Colorado in the USA. I also have experience with working remotely and have worked for clients situated in various parts of the USA as well as outside the USA.

I have been in the Computer Software industry for about three decades now. I have been consulting for much of that time. I have a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Yale University. While at Yale, I designed the pseudo-terminal device drivers of Unix, which are used for Unix windowing and remote login operations.

Most of my recent work has been on the Windows platform. In the near past, I have created the following products:

• EZ JCom A bridging tool for connecting Java to COM, and for bridging Java and languages like C# and Visual Basic.
• Blazix A Java Application and Web server.
• Jaxcent A Java-only AJAX solution.

Some of my recent consulting assignments are outlined below:

• Developed an Interactive Voice Response system for Prominic of Champaign, IL.

  Justin Hill of Prominic provided the following feedback, which he also graciously allowed me to post on the web:

• Helped THG Solutions of Weatherford, TX, finish up a consulting assignment. THG hired me one week and two days before the clients wanted to see the demo! The system was not at all stable but fortunately, I was able to help them get the demo in good shape in time to keep the client happy, and was able to help them get the code stable within a month.

• Developed an internet-traffic interception mechanism for WebPerformance of Durham, NC.

• Developed a solution for Chordiant of UK, for letting ActiveX and applets that use Java coexist while using different versions of Java.

I have done C#, Java, C++, C, Lisp, Network Protocols, Graphics, Device Driver Development, Embedded Systems Programming, User Interfaces, Web Frameworks, and various and sundry software work prior to that. Rather than being a "specialist" of some niche or the other, I am a general "curious" programmer, and like to learn all I can about new technologies that come along.

I have done "turn around" work on projects, of getting troubled projects out of trouble and on the path to success.

I have also been successful in various "getting over the hurdle" situations.
